Joyce Kang
I’m an MD/PhD student (MD though the Harvard/MIT HST program and PhD in Bioinformatics & Integrative Genomics). I joined the Raychaudhuri Lab in the summer of 2019 and am currently working on developing computational methods to efficiently map single-cell RNA-seq datasets against multi-million-cell reference maps. Prior to grad school, I grew up in Nashville and majored in Computer Science and Biology at Stanford, where I conducted research on microbiome dynamics in stem cell transplant patients using metagenomics. Outside of lab, I enjoy practicing yoga and exploring Boston’s ramen and hot pot scenes.
